After fantasizing about the Alfine 8 for a while now, looks like Shimano is bringing out a completely rebuilt Alfine 11 (cue endless “Spinal Tap” jokes) next year. Takes you pretty close to Rohloff w/o the totally insane cost and hub-specific frame mods. This is the future, people - I’m telling you!
